This curriculum is made up of approximately 133 lessons that correspond to the calendar school year. Also included are posters that can be posted to strike the student's imagination, used to get them thinking about the topic and/or can be colored in. Finally, and very importantly, are the included homework sheets. Not only will these reinforce the skills and concepts at home, but will also educate the parents/family on these important topics.
Designed and written by a master teacher, this curriculum responds to many of the needs and questions that the author observed and heard from children over his 25+ years in the classroom. By consistently using this curriculum in his own classroom, he not only created a community where there was much less physical and emotional violence, but one where the students treated each other with kindness and respect; a joyful community!
“If we are to teach real peace in this world, and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with the children.”
