Play for Peace - Northern Ireland brings together Roman Catholic and Protestant youth to laugh, play and learn to become leaders of peace in their communities.

Play For Peace In Northern Ireland

In 2002, Play for Peace was introduced to Northern Ireland through a program at Hazelwood Integrated College in Belfast. During 2004, Play for Peace - Northern Ireland expanded to include Slemish Integrated College in Ballymena and North Coast Integrated College in Coleraine. At each college, a group of 10 -12 Youth Facilitators learn team games and deliver play sessions to the children of local primary schools.

All three college programs are funded by the Youth Education Social Inclusion Partnership (YESIP), a consortium of twelve partners from within the Northern Ireland Education Service. Play for Peace - Northern Ireland also receives funding from the European Union Peace and Reconciliation Fund.
