“I come from a Muslim family of old city of Hyderabad, which has a history of communal conflict. I had many challenging experiences in my schools and community which made me decide to work towards peace, education and leadership.”
Javeed has been in Play for Peace since 2000, becoming one of the core members of the youth group at the time. He has now worked now for 8 years with youth, teachers, schools and organisations on following topics; youth leadership, peace building, community development and experiential education. Javeed started the project Zero Violence in schools with his team members of the Khel se Mel in 2010, working with children and teachers in many slums communities and schools in Hyderabad. His work includes conducting training for youth on leadership and education issues, for teachers on teaching tools and for organisations to run sustainable programs for youth and adults.
