John currently serves on the board of Play for Peace, a global non-profit organization, as the vice-chair. John has over 30 years of experience as an experiential educator and is a certified Play for Peace trainer. Since 1999 he has led Play for Peace programming and training in South Africa, Canada, Vietnam, Norway, Indonesia, the Philippines and throughout the United States.

John has his public school principal certificate and has a master’s degree in Outdoor Teacher Education from Northern Illinois University. From 1983 – 2011, John worked for the Northwest Suburban Special Education Organization as the director of the Sunrise Lake Outdoor Education Center. There he designed and implemented programming for groups ranging from early childhood through senior citizens of all abilities. He also has over 25 years of experience as a corporate team building consultant working with all levels employees from entry level to experienced CEO’s.
