12:30 PM — Check-in opens
Find us at the pickleball courts on Township Road during Logan Township Appreciation Day. Grab your name tag, say hello, and soak up the energy — the fun starts soon.
1:00 PM — Meet at the courts: catch & connect
As groups gather on our two courts, everyone gets a pickleball to play catch and get to know each other. No experience needed — if you can toss a ball, you're in.
1:10 PM — The great court switch
Once both courts are full, the whole group takes on its first challenge: switching courts and working through the process together — with just two small gates to navigate. Teamwork starts here.
1:20 PM — Play for Peace® presentation
Everyone comes back to one court for a short introduction to Play for Peace® — who we are, what cooperative play makes possible, and why we're walking together today.
1:30 PM — Follow the leader
We move net to net and around the full court, and here's the twist: every leader drops off and the next person steps up, until everyone has had a turn leading.
1:40 PM — Guess my emotion (or my career!)
One big circle, one person in the middle, no talking except to answer. Guess right and you take the middle. Laughter guaranteed.
1:50 PM — Team ball-passing games
Passing the ball with all kinds of variations — kids vs. adults and plenty more mix-ups, all stressing one thing: working together.
2:00 PM — Swag, sign-ups & snacks
Before you head out, grab some Play for Peace® swag, learn how to stay involved, and enjoy pretzels and water on us. Thanks for stepping forward for peace, Swedesboro!
There will also be a Play for Peace presentation and demonstration at the pickleball courts. Play for Peace is a non profit organization started by a very dear friend who recently passed. He was all of this to me: Teacher, Mentor, Coach, and Roommate.
Come join me for an intro and workshop stressing the essence of play along with peace.
