Event at a Glance
10:00 AM — Doors open — check-in begins
Meet at the entrance to the Filene Center at Wolf Trap. John Dillon and the volunteer team will be there to welcome you, get you checked in, and get the group ready before the hike begins. Parking is available at Gil's Hill Parking at Wolf Trap.
10:15 AM — Opening circle & welcome
Before we hit the trails, host John Dillon opens the morning with a Play for Peace® cooperative activity and a brief welcome. A chance to connect with the people you'll be hiking with and to hear a little about why we're all here today.
10:30 AM — Hike begins
The group sets off on the Wolf Trap trails for a 1.5-mile hike through one of Northern Virginia's most beautiful natural spaces. Walk at your own pace this is a community hike, not a race. Take in the trails, connect with fellow walkers, and enjoy the morning.
A few things to know before you go:
👟 Hiking boots are preferred: tennis shoes are possible
💧 Please bring your own water
👥 This walk has a maximum capacity of 200 participants
11:30 AM — Finish & gathering
The group returns from the trails and gathers for a closing moment together: community photos, connection, and a chance to take in what the morning meant. Wolf Trap in the morning light is a pretty good place to celebrate walking for peace.
12:00 PM — Event closes
Thank you for walking with us. Safe travels home and thank you for being part of the Wolf Trap community walk for peace.
