Voices of the Journey
Capturing the Pulse of a Movement
As Play for Peace’s 2025 journey across Sri Lanka unfolded, something quietly profound emerged: not just the power of play, but the wisdom of voices, young and old who dared to dream of peace. To honor this unfolding, a reflective video podcast was created, capturing the essence of the journey, the insights of our trainers, and the spirit of the young changemakers who are now carrying the work forward.

In this intimate video conversation, master trainers Swati Bhatt and Agyatmitra and our new Community Engagement Coordinator, Sinthuja sit down sharing moments of vulnerability, discovery, and clarity. They speak candidly about what it means to rebuild peace in a country where silence has long echoed louder than words.
One facilitator shares, “We didn't just play, we remembered what it feels like to trust.” Another reflects, “Play helped us drop our defenses and really see each other.”
These reflections go beyond strategy. They are soulful, lived truths from a generation who are redefining leadership, not with power, but with empathy.
Throughout the conversation, three powerful themes stand out:
Play as Liberation – Play is no longer just a tool. It’s a form of liberation. For many young Sri Lankans, it is the first time they’ve experienced joy without judgment, connection without condition.
Youth as Carriers of Change – Youth aren’t waiting for permission to lead. They are stepping up, listening to each other, and inviting communities into a new way of being—one that centers care, voice, and justice.
Peace as Daily Practice – Peace isn’t just a future goal, it’s something to be practiced every day in how we listen, include, and show up. The podcast emphasizes that peacebuilding begins with presence, not perfection.
This podcast is more than a summary, it’s a living archive of what it means to build peace from the inside out. It’s about hearing each other out loud. It’s about a couple from different sides of conflict finding common ground through games. It’s about facilitators becoming family. It’s about remembering that play has always been a way back to each other.
Play for Peace's journey in Sri Lanka is not a project, it’s a process, one that evolves with each new voice, each shared story, each moment of laughter and learning.
We invite you to listen, reflect, and be part of the transformation.
