Play for Peace clubs around the world celebrated our 20th birthday with fun parties and special birthday cakes. These happy and festive cakes were tributes to our efforts to create friendships across divides over the past 20 years. Bringing hope to many children and youth around the world who live in conflict zones, Play for Peace’s clubs and the programs use cooperative play to empower these young people to take an active part in creating a united, thriving community.
The cakes are also tributes to our founders, trainers, and mentors, who have shaped the development of Play for Peace.
“The games don´t belong to us, the games belong to you,” said Craig Dobkin, cofounder of Play for Peace. Young leaders around the globe use Play for Peace's many cooperative games to create laughter and joy for children, ensuring they can enjoy themselves in safe spaces and forget about their worries.
The birthday celebrations not only honored all of the work the organization has done so far, but also demonstrate that there is still much to do. Luckily, Play for Peace global community is ready for the challenge.
