Save the date! Our fourth annual Walk for Peace will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016, from 11 am to 3 pm, at the Bartlett Nature Center in Bartlett, IL.
With our highly successful Feast for Peace taking place just a few weeks ago, we are now putting our focus on preparations for our largest fundraising event, the Walk for Peace and World Peace Day Celebration. Our fourth annual Walk for Peace will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016, from 11 am to 3 pm, at the Bartlett Nature Center in Bartlett, IL. The 5-kilometer Walk for Peace is part of our overall World Peace Day Celebration, which coincides with celebrations around the world in honor of the United Nations’ International Day of Peace. The Walk for Peace will once again proceed on the beautiful nature paths at the Bartlett Nature Center, featuring Play for Peace games for kids and adults.
Our World Peace Day Celebration includes music, face painting, cooperative games, an international food festival, a silent auction, and display booths hosted by community organizations. The event is supported by children, families, business owners, and community leaders from nearly 20 communities, including Bartlett and neighboring Lombard, Schaumburg, and West Chicago. We invite our participants from past years to join us again this year. We could use your support as we recruit event sponsors and teams of walkers to help raise funds and help us reach our goal of $50,000.
Invite your companies, schools, and organizations to join you at the Walk for Peace! All funds raised help support Play for Peace’s peace education program that helps children form friendships across divides of culture, religion, and race in Chicago and in communities of conflict around the world. We will provide more information as the days progress. Registration is already open. Please reserve Saturday, September 24, on your calendar, and visit the Walk for Peace page on Mobile Cause to register today. We look forward to seeing you at the Bartlett Nature Center again this year.
