Community Spotlight: Denver Parks & Rec launches Play for Peace Clubs

"There is a lot of excitement in Denver Parks & Rec to start Play for Peace. We have two new clubs starting this fall led by 10 Youth Facilitators doing Practice Peace Sessions weekly with elementary school students. Onward and upward." Craig

Denver Parks and Recreation has just become a Partner for Peace and will integrate Play for Peace into their SOAR (Social Opportunities, Academics and Recreation) program. Play for Peace certified trainers Craig and Imroz are training 10 afterschool coordinators who have already started using Play for Peace in two local schools every week.  The children they work with come from diverse cultural and racial backgrounds. We sincerely thank Jeneanne, Supervisor of Community Recreation, and Curt, Recreation Coordinator (now also Play for Peace Mentor) for helping us make this dream of working together come true!
