We’re taking another opportunity to thank all of our runners, walkers, event sponsors, and volunteers for helping us celebrate World Peace Day at the Bartlett Nature Center in Bartlett, IL, on Saturday, September 24! We could not have held a successful event without you, and the funds you helped us raise will go a long way toward supporting our 59 Play for Peace Clubs in 20 countries around the world.
To date, we have raised $38,053 toward our goal of $50,000! Last week, we thanked our top fundraising participants and teams, and they’ve been busy adding to their totals. We’ll keep our Crowdrise page open until November, and we invite you to visit the page and make a donation if you haven’t yet had the opportunity. Race Results We’re excited about the participation in our first-ever 5k run. You can view and download a list of overall race results and results by age group on our website. Thank You to Our Dedicated Volunteers! Behind all of the great activities at the World Peace Day Fall Run/Walk were very hard-working and dedicated volunteers. Our board Vice Chair, Lisa Gelsomino, led the planning effort, and dozens of people played a role in bringing our annual event to life. From helping us post flyers before the event to securing donations of food and silent auction items, to marking the 5k trail early on Saturday morning and setting up activities at the shelter, we were joined by more than 50 volunteers who made it all happen. We were excited to work with everyone before the event as well as onsite at the Bartlett Nature Center. In Appreciation of Our Event Sponsors and Donors, There are so many ways individuals, companies, and organizations contributed to our annual celebration of World Peace Day in the Chicago area. Many individuals and companies donated products, food, water, and silent auction items, which helped us keep our costs low and create a great experience for our participants.
