When Arif Khan and his wife were married on December 7, 2017, in Jaipur City, India, it turned into a Play for Peace gathering. Arif - the mentor of Pink City Play for Peace Club in Jaipur - invited mentors and youth facilitators from across India, and 40 of them attended. From five states (Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and West Bengal), the group had a mix of religious backgrounds (22 Hindus, 13 Muslims, and 5 Christians). Arif and his family hosted the group in Jaipur as they celebrated and participated in wedding rituals for six days. The Pink City Play for Peace Club members helped Arif and his family organize the wedding and host all the guests. The club members opened their homes and participated in the wedding traditions.
Arif began conducting Play for Peace sessions in his community in 2016 and registered Pink City Play for Peace club in 2017. He is dedicated to the idea of social change and has a passion for working toward ending social differences and creating a friendly and safe platform for children and teenagers in his community. His wedding brought together people from different places, religions, and traditions, demonstrating how Play for Peace goes beyond play and builds long-lasting friendships. Congratulations, Arif!
