Play for Peace in Myanmar's Coffee Region

They are ready to finish their own Gamebooks! - Naung Taung Play for Peace Club facilitator

Nestled among lush mountains, the Ywangan (also known as Ywar Ngan) township in the Shan state of Myanmar is home to dozens of small villages of which many are small coffee growers. Recently the state in conjunction with a USAID-funded project called Value Chains for Rural Development has been helping local growers understand the connection between the quality of coffee and practicing good production and plantation management techniques.

As the region works to increase the recognition of the quality of coffee so that it can be marketed for higher prices, it is also working towards bringing peace. Recently, the Naung Taung Play for Peace club held a session at Pel Khen in Ywangan. Take a look at some of the pictures from that session.
