Empowering Youth Leaders Through Play: A Glimpse into Play for Peace Training in the Philippines

This June, the vibrant energy of the Play for Peace (PFP) community came alive during the Facilitator's Training with the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) Youth Leaders in the Philippines. The power of play transcended boundaries and brought together young leaders eager to foster peace and community.

Energizing Session with Play for Peace
One of the highlights of this training was watching PFP Council member and trainer, Richard Delos Reyes (Chad), support the group in performing the Play for Peace ritual. With his guidance, the youth leaders immersed themselves in the PFP experience, learning the essence of play as a tool for connection and understanding.

Nheil Stephen Dela Cruz, a dedicated PFP volunteer from CoLink, played a pivotal role in this session. His facilitation of the Play for Peace Chant infused the room with enthusiasm and energy. The chant, a fundamental part of the PFP ritual, not only invigorates participants but also serves as a reminder of the joy and unity that play brings to communities.

Chad's Journey with Play for Peace
Chad's story is a testament to the transformative power of play. He shared how engaging in Play for Peace activities has empowered him to become a more confident and compassionate individual. Through play, he has discovered his potential and harnessed it to make a positive impact on others.

The training in the Philippines is a example of how Play for Peace continues to inspire and equip youth leaders around the world. It's an invitation for everyone to explore the possibilities that play offers in building stronger, more connected communities.

Whether you're a seasoned facilitator or new to the concept, there's always room to grow and learn. As Chad and Nheil demonstrated, the journey of play is not just about fun; it's about unlocking potential, fostering unity, and spreading peace.

Thank you, Chad and Nheil, for sharing the power and fun of play in the SYM formation programs!
