It's wonderful to hear about the efforts and dedication of Mentor Mohammed Javeed in addressing the concerning behavior among the 9th-grade students in Golconda Fort, Hyderabad, India.
Recognizing the issues of physical fights, verbal abuse, and bullying is the first step towards addressing them. It's crucial to open up conversations about violence and its consequences to help students understand the impact of their actions on others and on the overall classroom atmosphere.
He said- “In the historic area of Golconda Fort in Hyderabad, India, there are mixed communities of Hindus and Muslims facing vulnerabilities. Our students were engaging in physical fights, verbal abuse, and bullying, often without any clear reason. When asked why, they considered it mere fun, a way to pass the time, and a display of friendship. However, many students were silently suffering from this behavior, feeling helpless and carrying inner anger. We discussed the concept of "violence" and its consequences.
Some admitted that violence occurred in our classroom, largely due to one student's aggressive behavior. This student, surprisingly, felt targeted without reason. We concluded by committing to fostering a respectful, empathetic, and safe environment. Together, we aim to create positive change within our classroom and help our friends adjust their attitudes and behavior.”
Thank you for your dedication to these important causes and for being a mentor who truly cares about the well-being and growth of his students.
