Thank You Thursday: New Bloggers!

Play for Peace is dedicated to telling the stories of our clubs around the world. We are thrilled to add more volunteers to the team who tells these stories - stories of kindness, compassionate action, and positive community change around the world.

Our Play for Peace Clubs are the heart of our organization, and part of the way we know our Clubs have a positive impact on local communities is through the wonderful stories we gather from our trainers and mentors. It's important to provide as much support as possible to our clubs, and telling their stories is a large part. We're thrilled to add to our team of talented writers from around the world, who will bring their passion for peace into the stories they tell. These blog writers join us from countries all around the world, and bring a great variety of experience with them, too. In addition to reporting on stories from our trainers, mentors, and youth leaders, they will also help us increase our understanding of the issues faced by our Play for Peace Clubs. These writers join a team an already stellar team of talented and dedicated writers whose passion for storytelling comes through in each compelling story they write.

It is our pleasure to introduce you to our newest Play for Peace blog writer: Fernando Morales Martinez a communications student in Mexico who is passionate about the future of the world's children. Kit Wan Chui, originally from Hong Kong and currently located in the German-speaking area of Switzerland, has a keen interest in languages and cultures. Zeleka Shawel, located in the United States, is an advocate for environmental justice and global sustainability. She believes that upholding human rights, advancing peace and non-violence, and appreciating cultural diversity are important to securing a sustainable future. Marija Markovic, originally hailing from Serbia and currently living in Prague, has spent much of her professional life working on projects that support education, sport, and management in cultures. Aruna Koya, an IT professional living in the United Kingdom, has spent nearly 15 years working in the IT field as a programmer and manager. Katie Baumann, a former Play for Peace Intern, has just moved to Italy to continue her studies. After pursuing International Studies at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, Katie is excited to become more integrated with the European culture and use her language skills to tell stories from around the world.  We look forward to reading posts from all of our new writers. We thank them for their dedication to the Play for Peace community and look forward to the stories they'll tell!
