Walk for Peace Wednesday: Sign Up to Run, Walk, or Become an Event Sponsor

On Saturday, September 24, we hope to draw in more than 300 people who will help us raise more than $50,000 to support our work in 20 countries around the world.

We are officially three months away from celebrating World Peace Day around the world at Play for Peace. Last year, we held celebrations that involved 10 of our Play for Peace Clubs in six countries, not including the one we host in Bartlett, IL, USA. We had 1400 people involved last year, hosting activities that ranged from parties to walks for peace, community service activities, and of course, Play for Peace games. The United Nations declared September 21 as the International Day of Peace, so every year, our Play for Peace community joins with more than a billion people worldwide who commemorate this day.

Here in the U.S., specifically in the Chicago area, we are preparing for our World Peace Day Fall Run/Walk, which is also Play for Peace’s largest fundraising event. On Saturday, September 24, we hope to draw in more than 300 people who will help us raise more than $50,000 to support our work in 20 countries around the world. We’ll be on the grounds of the Bartlett Nature Center in Bartlett, IL, from 11 am to 3 pm, and we’ve got a lot of great festivities planned. People can participate by running our 5k course, walking in the 1k nature walk, or becoming a virtual walker, which means you can join a team and raise funds for us, even if you don’t live in the Chicago area. You could also form a team with your friends, family, company, or school and allow people to decide how they would like to participate. Another way families, organizations, or companies can participate is to become a sponsor of the World Peace Day Fall Run/Walk.

We have lots of affordable packages that will provide companies with visibility to a health-conscious and family-friendly crowd of people who represent 18 communities in the Bartlett area.
