Whether you run or walk, our Fall Run/Walk is a great way to celebrate World Peace Day with us!
It’s World Peace Day Wednesday again, and we wanted to provide an update about our first-ever 5k Run that is part of our World Peace Day Fall Run/Walk. As you may know, our event is coming up on Saturday, September 24 at the Bartlett Nature Center in Bartlett, IL.
We hope you will join us, whether you run or walk or just want to enjoy the International Food Festival, activities, or our silent auction. Here are some details you’ll need to know about the 5k run and 1k nature walk: Pre-Registration The process of pre-registering on our Crowdrise page is easy, whether you run or walk. You’ll be asked to set up a fundraiser, whether you’re paying the admission fee or whether you choose to raise more money for Play for Peace. You should register on Crowdrise before you come to the event on September 24.
What do you receive for the registration fee? Registration also includes a free World Peace Day Fall Run/Walk t-shirt, and admission to our International Food Festival and activities after the run and walk. Everyone who registers will receive a goodie bag, too. We’ll have some bagels, fresh fruit, and other snacks available for everyone to enjoy before the event starts. Event Schedule 11 am: Registration & Center activities open Noon: Event kick-off and 1K Nature Walk 12:30 pm: 5K Run 1 pm: International Food Festival opens 2:30 pm: Silent Auction Closes 5k Run Details The scenic 5k run will be timed manually by volunteers, so you will be able to know your time after you finish the run. The trails are wide enough to accommodate both runners and walkers. There will be two water stations along the running course, and volunteers will have plenty of water available. Volunteers will also help direct runners along the course. 1K Nature Walk Details The kid- and family-friendly 1k nature walk will be set up for fun! There will be a Bubble Run at the beginning of the course for kids, Play for Peace games along the course, and a display called Happiness Valley will show people from Play for Peace around the world who are being helped by all of our participants.
We'll have a water station set up mid-way for our walkers, too. New this year will be a foam pit at the end of the walk! There’s a lot to see and do at the World Peace Day Fall Run/Walk, and we hope you will register today, raise some funds to help Play for Peace, and join us at the Bartlett Nature Center on Saturday, September 24!
