World Peace Day Wednesday: Get Involved with Our Run/Walk in Bartlett!

We would love your help to make our event on Saturday, September 24, even better than ever!

We will be bringing you news next week about our plans to celebrate World Peace Day globally. Today, we’re starting locally with our World Peace Day Run/Walk in Bartlett, IL, USA, and our efforts to sign up sponsors, silent auction donors, and of course, runners and walkers. We would love your help to make our event on Saturday, September 24, even better than ever! Our intern, Katie Baumann, is working now on developing four main areas for the Run/Walk, and we could use your help in any of these areas!

Silent Auction We’re sending requests to local companies and sports teams…and prizes are starting to come in. How can you help? Donate a gift basket, gift cards, or other items that we could auction off to our event participants in September. Donations of any size will help us. We’ll combine smaller prizes to make larger baskets.

Food Donations We’re putting together our international food festival for after the Run and Walk are finished, and we’re also gathering donations of breakfast items that we can serve to participants and volunteers in the morning, too. How can you help? Do you know someone whose business would like to donate? We will prominently list all of our food donors in our newsletters and at the Run/Walk to make sure they will be recognized. Sponsorship We have some wonderful and affordable packages that even a family could sponsor that we’re offering to local companies and organizations, too. How can you help? You could get your company logo or family name on a “Mission sign” along the route on a sign with a photo that reminds runners and walkers about how the steps they’re taking help Play for Peace. Or a company could sponsor one of our water stations where runners and walkers can get some refreshments along our courses. Team Recruitment We’re just getting started with signing up teams now…and it only takes two or more people to form a team. Participating in the World Peace Day Fall Run/Walk is even more fun when you form a team! How can you help?  Sign up and form a team, or invite someone you know to form a team with his or her company! It’s easy to sign your team up on Crowdrise, and then all you have to do is invite friends, family, and coworkers to join you in raising funds for Play for Peace.

You can choose a fun team name, set a goal for the amount you would like to raise, and invite people to your fundraising page. You could even set up some friendly competition with other teams! We hope you’ll join us for the World Peace Day Fall Run/Walk. There are many ways to get involved.
