Katrin Hünemörder

Katrin is a trainer, a project manager, a political educator, and a digital enthusiast. For more than 20 years, she has been active in non-formal education settings, with a focus on transformative education, which puts emphasis on creating environments where young people can identify their own challenges and develop actionable solutions. She is an expert in knowledge management and organizational development in civil society organizations. Currently Katrin is the managing director of mediale pfade, a german non-profit organisation. She works at the intersection of political, cultural, and media education and specializes in digital format development. Her career path started out in the German and European youth press and participation movements, took a detour in humanitarian aid at Doctors without borders, where she worked for the international access to essential drugs campaign, before she moved to Guatemala for ten years, working in eduational administration. In Guatemala, she was introduced to Play for Peace and immediately understood the relevance and impact of the transformative community and peacebuilding approaches on a grassroot level. She became a trainer and later supported the organization in the communication department.
