Play for Peace Club in Poland

Warsaw Club

Founded as Play for Peace Club: 2023

Mentor: Maria Loskot, Ala Ivakina
Partner Organization: KIK
Location: Warsaw, Poland

Focus: Urgent efforts are needed to promote coexistence and empathy in our irreversibly to become a diverse society. Especially, we hope to support children and young people from other countries and help them integrate with their Polish peers.

The club mentors are Maria Loskot from Poland and Ala Ivakina from Ukraine. This club started in October 2023 and meetings are twice a month. In January 2024, there was a first Practice Peace Session for refugee children from the Ocalenie Foundation led by the youth from the PFP club.

    Last Tuesday, on the 10th of October, a group of 11 young people from Poland and Ukraine, aged 15-16, came together to embark on an exciting journey as a part of the club, Play For Peace Warsaw. The day marked their first meeting, and it was filled with fun icebreaker games, introductions, and a deep dive into the world of Play For Peace.

    Klub Inteligencji Katolickiej is a key Play for Peace partner organization. According to KIK - " KIK was founded in 1956 and is one of the oldest associations in Poland. From the beginning of its existence, KIK was an organization gathering Christians who wanted to change the world around them for the better.

    Now they are ready to lead 14 summer camps with Polish and Ukrainian children to spend time together, integrate, and get to know each other! Currently, there are reports and concerns about discrimination against Ukrainians in Poland.

Partner for Peace

Club of Catholic Intelligentsia is an organisation founded in 1956 grouping Catholic intellectuals with the aim to promote and develop active and mature responsibility for the society and the Church. The important role of the Club is also to provide proper education for youth, develop of artistic and cultural projects and necessary help for the poor and the ones in need. The members of the Club are very active supporting democratic changes in the Eastern Europe countries, especially in Ukraine and Belarus.
