This week is Earth Week! Since the coronavirus and social distancing have made it difficult for our clubs to physically observe together, we're taking a look back at past Earth Week celebrations to remind us of the amazing ways our clubs can, and will continue to, make our world a better place.
This past April, Play for Peace clubs around the world celebrated Earth Week by taking part in the 2019 Play for Peace Global Games. Working with more than 700 children over the course of the week, our clubs explored what it means to be a leader when you feel connected to the earth.
In partnership with Compassion Games, Play for Peace has organized activities for Earth Week—a nine-day global challenge from April 14-22—to inspire acts of love, service, and compassion toward Mother Earth.
During Earth Week, mentor Arzoo Shakir and her team, the Disciples for Peace club, joined the global event to promote protection of the environment and conserve water.
