On the Radio: Sharing stories from around the world while promoting the Feast

“What Play for Peace does is create space where youth can come together, have a safe space and talk about hope for the future, and have concrete actions that help make their communities more peaceful.” -- Sarah Gough, interviewed on WBEZ Chicago.

Play for Peace was in the news last week! In the process of preparing for our event this Thursday, we had the opportunity to tell stories about Play for Peace Clubs from around the world. Our Executive Director, Sarah Gough, was a guest on the radio show Worldview, on WBEZ in Chicago, Sarah had the chance to talk about our work, both in Chicago and around the world, to the Worldview audience, who are interested in hearing stories with a global focus. The host of the show, Jerome McDonnell, has become a friend of Play for Peace over the years, and he will serve as the emcee of the Feast for Peace this Thursday, April 14.

Jerome asked Sarah about Clubs all around the world, including Myanmar, Chicago, Denver, Guatemala, and Israel. She also got to promote the Feast and let people know how to purchase tickets. Sarah did a great job in the interview and told the Chicago-based audience about a powerful story shared by master trainer Richard Rutschman. Rich used Play for Peace games as part of an intervention with some high school students and helped prevent violent retaliation from the youth after their friend had been killed in a fight. We will tell you that story in detail soon! Please listen to Sarah’s interview to hear stories from around the world.
