Tips of Promoting Compassion in World

Compassion is not just a word; it is a feeling of deep sympathy for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering. It also inspires you to become a more compassionate individual so that you raise your character to a higher level. For over 24 years, we at Play for Peace have been teaching children compassion in some of the world's most conflict-torn regions. It takes commitment, consistency, and, most of all, compassion to make the world a happy place.

The motive of compassion is to “use your voice for kindness, your ears for compassion, your hands for charity, your mind for truth, and your heart for love.”

Tips for promoting compassion in your home or classroom.
1. Role model! Practice having a range of emotions, rules and expectations while maintaining compassion for YOURSELF and the kids at all times.

2. Practice! Use play to explore the challenges of compassion through empathy building exercises and kindness challenges. See our free activities!

3. Expand! Apply what you’ve learned in service learning projects to understand the impact compassion can have on others outside of the home and classroom.
